Since 2022: Programming Languages - 1st year Master/PhD course at Goethe University Frankfurt

with Adrian Fritzsche

The purpose of this course is to convey hands-on experience about programming and data handling to PhD students across fields. After introducing students to the foundations of Python, SQL and Stata, this course teaches concrete tools and coding methods to collect and store data and to prepare it for state-of-the art econometric analysis. The course relies on examples from research projects in academia and economic policymaking. This comprises dealing with large-scale micro data - both structured and unstructured. At the end of the course, students shall have obtained a technical toolkit to handle their own empirical projects and to understand and communicate concepts related to programming and data handling in empirical economics.Â
